Description
When mapping Eilola-2010-210, some inconsistencies with concept 25 DIRT stood out since English "dirt" is ambiguous in meaning.
Merriam-Webster on "dirt":
- excrement: a filthy or soiling substance (such as mud, dust, or grime)
- earth: loose or packed soil or sand
We also have 1228 EARTH (SOIL) but never map English "dirt" there since we usually can't be sure which meaning is intended. That way, we're mixing potentially neutral mappings (that might be closer to 1228 EARTH (SOIL)) with mappings for "mud" or "filth" in 25 DIRT.
Should there be further splitting here? Perhaps of DIRT "Either loose or packed earth or unclean substance" (much like 25 DIRT), MUD "Wet or semi-liquid soil", and FILTH "Strongly disgusting or repulsive substances, e.g., sewage or excrement"?
