I tried the easy mode option for expedition 19, corvette. When I completed it, it won't eliminate the expedition tab nor start the standard tutorial. Use the Json file with the default presents, it works just fine and I can transition to online play without a problem. I have no mods installed. Only the special json file that enables me to play the old expeditions.
Exact steps to duplicate the problem with less than 5 minutes time:
- Go off line in steam
- download the json file after hitting the "easy mode" button (this problem doesn't occur with default presents).
- Replace the Json file in my saved game cache with the downloaded one.
- Start NMS and a new save selecting the corvette expedition.
- Do the first task that gets you to the station with the orbital uplink.
- Collected the rewards
- Build a corvette
- get in and out of the pilots seat to save the game.
- quit the game
- Switch steam to online mode
- Restart NMS and load the saved game
- Click accept when it comes up with the notification that the expedition is over.
From this point on, the expedition tab will not go away like normal and you can't successfully select the one of it's mission. Even flying to another system, verifying steam files for the game, reloading the game. Doesn't matter the expedition tab stays in the escape menu and you can't do any of the tasks listed nor move on to the tutorial. Can't buy another ship, all planets except dissonant ones are aggressive sentinals.
Note: I did the above steps with default present and it works as correctly: Expedition tab goes away and it starts the tutorial mission normally. It seems selecting the easy mode preset that seems to break it the transition to normal vanilla game.

I have play and replay many expeditions and I always choose the corvette to start a new character so I have the orbital uplink learned. It's a life saver when the game glitches and traps you inside a frieghter or someone's trap base, or just plain game bugs. Keep up the great work.
