Like to get 6 new second generation boards #15
Comments
Hey Blainea2022 - do you mean 6 fully assembled boards or just the PCBs? I assume you mean PCBs. If so, I may have a few laying around that I could send you.
However, you do realize that you can also order these boards yourself. The Eagle files can be found at this link: https://github.com/dalethomas81/HamMessenger/tree/master/Documentation/CAD/Eagle

Dale, I read your article in IEEE "Spectrum". Is there any way that I can get 6 of your 2nd generation PC boards? It is part of emergency communications network that I would like to put in place for my community.
Thanks,

Also, let me note that I do not recommend relying on HamMessenger for emergency communications. It is not robust and developed enough for something like that.
Nothing beats a good old analog handheld in an emergency:)

Dale, thank you for getting back. I went to the Eagle folders and got confused, do I send the Gerber files or the Shield_2021-07-24.zip to PCBWay? I am so far behind the times that I don’t understand what programs are available for layout a PCB and what different companies work with.
Thanks for your input on emergency communications. Maybe my challenge would be to harden your project for my needs. I have limited experience with WinLink. I use my laptop, a Arduino (tiny) modem, and 2 meter handheld FM transceiver on packet. But in the emergency mode I need my back up generator to keep it all going on WinLink. That is a lot of investment for each station. I think I can run yours from a car battery for long time and each station is about 300 hundred dollars. Getting an 80 character message through seems much easier than WinLink. Unlike audio there is a record on SD card.
If you would like I can send some real “green stuff” to cover your expenses.
Thanks again
