Can't record in lower quality

I'm trying to record with the following settings, and the app gets stuck — the stopwatch stays at 00:00, the stop button doesn't do anything, and I have to quit the app:

• 1080p resolution
• H.256 container
• Audio on
• 30 fps

Recording with default settings works, but produces huge files. I'm looking for an application that would produce small files easy to share, because the default macOS screen recorder (cmd+shift=5) produces huge files too.
