In the previous gem release, complete rdoc documentation was one of the big news. For the next gem release, one of the goals is to have implemented a full specification for ruby-dicom. It is somewhat boring work, but it has to be done in order to mature the ruby-dicom library further and ensure that it behaves as intended and is free of bugs. Ruby-dicom uses Rspec 2 and mocha for its test suite/specification.

The specification coverage for the non-network parts of ruby-dicom is now acceptable, and this issue will no longer block the 0.9 release.
The issue will be transferred to the milestone for the next release, and hopefully we will be able to achieve acceptable spec coverage for the network code too eventually.
