Error compiling runeems_sats

Hello,

I am having difficulties installing EEMS on my system. I have installed it before, but this time and worked perfectly, but this time I keep getting the same error.
I am using a linux distro on WSL and so far everything has worked fine.
The error occurs when running make linux, make: *** [Makefile:26: runeems_sats.o] Error 1

several errors appear associated with the boost library, you can see the whole thing

Any idea what I need to do differently? Please remember that I don't have much linux experience.

For anyone wondering about this: I had the same exact issue when trying to use boost 1.76, and going back to 1.57 resolved it.

Did you actually have the program running? I'm using it in the latest version of boost (1.87) and Eigen (3.4.0) and I'm able to run it BUT with the big issue that somehow it does not recognize my .coord file, which its strange.

I tried to install 1.57 on my mac and i kept having issues, same with 1.76.

Just use the oldest boost, and make sure to use linux (WSL).

first, check the version:

You can check version.hpp (must be in the directory /usr/include/boost or similar) for BOOST_VERSION or BOOST_LIB_VERSION.

cat /usr/include/boost/version.hpp | grep "BOOST_LIB_VERSION"

// BOOST_LIB_VERSION must be defined to be the same as BOOST_VERSION
#define BOOST_LIB_VERSION "1_53"

something like that, in my experience EEMS runs good with older versions of boost like 1.57 and eigen 3.2.2

"C++ implementation
The C++ implementation uses the Eigen template library for linear algebra computations and the Boost libraries for random number generation and the habitat geometry. EEMS has been tested with Eigen 3.2.2 3.3.9 and Boost 1.57 1.76.0 and might not be compatible with newer versions of Boost/Eigen. After downloading Eigen (which does not need installation) and installing Boost, update the variables EIGEN_INC, BOOST_LIB, BOOST_INC in the Makefile. The dynamic Boost libraries are linked to slightly differently on a Mac and a Linux machine, so run make darwin on a Mac or make linux on a Linux machine. This C++ implementation has not been tested on Windows."

Try to use linux machine (ubuntu distro)
