jTag on images in Fotorama (with Thumnails)?

I am wondering how to go about using jTag within an image that sits within a carousel with thumbnails (i.e. Fotorama). Anyone have experience doing this? When I place the javascript within the html where the <img src> sits, it just blanks out the image on the screen.
