Flat panel wizard does not change the camera exp length after the first attempt

I set the camera to bulb in M
connect via the plugin (session runs fine)
When using the flats wizard with lets says min exp 0s and max 2s x it seems that the wizard changes the camera exp to 1s for the first attempt but then it thinks it is taking different capture settings let s say 1/2 sec but changes are not made to the camera.
this results in failure of the dichotomy search for the best exposure.

TBH not sure if it is an issue of the driver or of the flat wizard....

Sorry, this is an area I'm unfamiliar with.
Maybe a log from Nina AND a log from the driver covering the same period would be useful.
