I am unable to open the .xls files which I have created earlier.

I have created an excel files and I am able to open it outside.

I want to update the same file by adding few content inside the cell.

I want to do everything within the same program. 

for eg. I have programmed it like
Once I clicked a button an excel file should be created. Then I will close the 
application and save the data.
Problem:  I want to open the same file and update it without change the 
previous data. 
The issue come here, I am not able to open the same file to update it, instead 
it is replacing my data. 

I am unable to use this code to open and edit the existing file:
// open xls file
Workbook book = Workbook.Load(file);
Worksheet sheet = book.Worksheets[0];

Is there any way to close and update it?
