[Upgrade] Allow link post to not redirect to the link in the reddit post, but the reddit post itself

I often share news on my Discord server, and I enjoy reading the Redditor's discussion about the news article. But the embed links only redirect directly to the article rather than Reddit the reddit post.

This affects all the links there. Any plan to allow us to see the Reddit post from the embed fix? Thanks!

It seems that vxreddit embeds the article itself, not the reddit post.

Is this the type of embed you're looking for in that specific case? Or is there other information you'd like to be included?

Yes that is the kind of info I'm looking for. Ideally I'd like the embed to have the name of the name of the news source and a picture of the article (if possible). I feel like you'd have to call 2 APIs (one for reddit and one for the linked site), but I think that's possible.

For now I've made it so the URL of the post shows up in the embed, but will look into what you mentioned

As for embeding the image from the link, I think you may be able to get it from Reddit. Otherwise you could follow the link in the post and scrape the og meta tags, which are made for embeds.
