Feature: Docker-in-Docker

We'd like to use docker for integration test purposes (e.g. running multiple QEMU instances on isolated networks etc.), and for that we'd like to use the Docker-in-Docker feature.

I'm wondering if there are others who would like to use that feature as well and whether it is a common need and justified to add the feature to the s-core devcontainer.

Only running QEMU does not require to have Docker-in-Docker. I suppose you want to use e.g. Docker Compose.

I would like if we explore alternatives alternatives to Docker-in-Docker, because the devcontainer as it currently is works also with podman. podman has the huge advantage that it can be run rootless. At the moment the test code in S-CORE communication only works reliably, when it uses linux-sandbox, which only works if the container is started with --privileged: #33

I do not know if there will be a decision for or against podman support, but do want to close the door early on.

Feature request might have come too early, without me knowing about the concept how bazel / tests work in S-CORE. I was under the assumption that we would be reusing our Docker-based integration test setup when migrating to S-Core - which doesn't seem to be the case.

So, I'll close this issue as there is no other use for now.
