We run a weekly race all summer. The numberSet assigned bibs are not apparently being carried over week after week.

I built the first race and setup number ranges and number sets.

The first week when I loaded the pre-registered participants I used the "Assign Bib Numbers". That appeared to work fine. Then for day-of registrants, we manually assigned bib numbers. All went fine.

The next week I used the "Copy Format" from the Competitions screen to create a clone of the first weeks race (so numberSet, etc are all the same).

I uploaded the pre-registered participants without the "Assign Bib Numbers" and that appeared to work fine. However when I use the "Manual Add", "RFID Add" or "Bib Add" the user is added, however for participants from the first race that had an assigned Bib, the "Participant Edit" screen shows "No bib". When I go to the "Participant Bib Change" screen. There is a section of text that shows "Number set bibs: ###" where ### is the the bib they used from the first race. Additionally the bib they used in the first race shows as greyed out (unavailable).

I have tried multiple ways of rolling back the database to before this season and essentially rebuilding the races and numberSet and the re-importing the prereg both with and without assigned bib numbers etc.

Your help in diagnosing and resolving this is greatly appreciated. For the second race of the season the people just assigned new bibbs. However with a turnout of close to 150 participants, we will quickly run out of numbers between 1-1000 if we were to asign new numbers. I have experimented with the "Reapply numberset to existing participants". I believe this works, however would have to be done for each and every participant ... I also experimented with assigning a new bib number then, switching to "no bib" and then going back to the original bib number. This appears to work, however leaves a bunch of temporary bib numbers being marked as lost ... and then I need to go back and use the manage numberset to fix things.

Currently we just finishe week 2 of 15 your help in resolving this prior to next weeks Tuesday night race will be greatly appreciated.

Just to clarify, when I use pre-reg upload from excel, the pre-allocated bib numbers work fine. However if I manual add by bib, rfid or lookup then the bib numbers are not being associated although they show as being associated with the participant (based on numberset). Wondering if its an issue with the category names. My category names are MA-A, MA-B, MA-C (Mens Adult A, Mens Adult B, Mens Aduld C etc). I am fairly familiar with the system (3 completed seasons of weekly crit races), so only things that have changed are the software load and category naming convention.

MA-A (Men Adult - A) and MY-A (Men Youth - A) share range of numbers 100-199 ... Not sure.

When I have access to the box I will get a dump of the Category Numbers.

OK. Overlapping number ranges for multiple categories isn't a problem, but a lack of number ranges for a category can be a problem. Worst case, you can do a "System Wide Data: Download DB" and send me your database to look at.

The UI generally highlights any category without a number range and prompts to fix, from what I remember. There are none highlighted to fix. Will plan to follow up on the weekend.

If I export an event with participant data will it include the numberset, category ranges, and the sample race configuration? Just trying to mimimize the data transferred, while still being able to hopefully recreate the problem.

Hi Ed, I was wondering if its ok to email you directly as I would rather not post participant information on github. I have a sample participant's record, the core_competition data for the event in question, the core_category data, the core_numberset data relating to the competition, then core_participant data relating to the participant both in last weeks race (where we set her to bib=10) and this weeks race where I just did the manual add and currently her bib is empty. If its ok with you I would like to email you the what I captured, and I hope that it might yield some insight.
