Solaredge: Changing "storage control mode" changes display mode in solaredge app #3314

From my experience with Solaredge Inverters the control strategy is as follows: 2.) Then a combination of Storage/Discharge default mode and Remote Control Command Timeout [s] becomes active. The available options are: If Storage Control Mode is changed from „1“ to „4“ to enable external remote control and Storage/Discharge default mode is set to „7“ your Solaredge internal control functionality remains unchanged as long as Remote Control Command Timeout is expired. The timer starts to count with the last sent Modbus control command. Standard value is 3600s , one should use a shorter time to enable a fast fallback if something goes wrong (e.g. frozen or hung up Raspberry Pi or other device, or lost TCP connection for whatever reason). I can also confirm the display behavior of the Solaredge app but this is kind of temporarily. The normal display data with full information is restored the next day. In may case the display for the day before yesterday (2May) just got restored this morning, while the data for yesterday and today is shown as what you describe with „broken“. Your display should be recalculated pretty soon. I do not believe that this issue is linked to EVCC, this happens with any external control (e.g. ioBroker) I also do not understand the statement from Solaredge support saying that you did something wrong. I found in an official Solaredge documentation the information that the full display data needs to be recalculated and is shown with delay. Solaredge hast to identify why a remote control is affecting the amount of displayed data in their monitoring system. |

Not a bug from this application but something that caused me a lot of headache so I thought I'd comment here in case anyone else has this problem.
When changing the solaredge "storage control mode" from the normal mode of "maximize self consumption" (MSC) to anything else like remote control mode which im guessing evcc uses to control the inverter and battery the solaredge app on android and ios changes the display to a simpler version, not showing the detailed usage split between battery, import and direct pv usage.

I wrote solaredge support about this and they said this:
I have no idea why they would disable detailed statistics in the app when changing away from maximize self consumption.
They seem to also agree that this shouldn't be the case and started working to fix it but he also said it would be more of a long term change.
Does anyone else using solaredge have this issue? Have you found a workaround?
Periodically changing the inverter back to the "maximize self consumption" mode seems to restore the data in the app (so it is being saved somewhere) however I don't know if there is a limit on how far back this works.
Maybe evcc can switch the inverter to "maximize self consumption" when nothing apart from the house/battery is charging? Then the app should continue to show the detailed statistics.
