Working with Gio is a dream! She's methodical and forward-thinking in her understanding of tasks and always thinks of the bigger picture. In my experience, if Giovanna has an idea to share it will probably be the one you end up implementing because she's one step ahead. She is really strong with CSS and also knows a lot more about JavaScript than she thinks she does!!! |
I love working with Gio, she is super straightforward with how she approaches work and really fun to collaborate with, whether that's writing code or preparing presentations. I really admire her commitment to making a project the best it can be while staying calm and with a great sense of humour. |
I had the pleasure of working with Gio for two weeks, and it was soo much fun. She's considerate of others and is willing to try different approaches to write a piece of code. This is useful when you come across some bugs. Not to mention, she has a great sense of humour which always helps! |
What impresses me most about Gio is her natural strength as a leader. Gio is able to keep focused on the main objectives at hand and can steer a team back on track when drifting. Her courage and bravery to move forwards toward a goal and be accountable in challenging situations inspires me and I feel like she brings out the best in people around her. All this coupled with the fact that Gio has the ability to instantly draw smiles to faces of everyone in a room means she is a wonderful asset to any team and I'm excited to work with her in the future. |
It was a pleasure to work with Gio. And excited to work with her for the next 3 weeks. She has peaceful energy and she is not competitive. She won't dominate the conversations but she is always present. She mentioned it takes some time for her to get used to people she works with but I didn't notice anything like that. She knows a lot of JS and she is always eager to learn more. I have seen her working for whole day non-stop and still maintaining energy to laugh. 😆 |
I love working with Gio, she has a wonderfully calming, positive energy 😊 ✨ She is a great listener, considerate of other people's opinions and is a reliable presence in any team. Her good humour and practical approach to projects make her a great leader/'voice of reason' and helps keep the team from falling down a rabbit hole or losing focus, especially during periods of stress and frustration! |
Gio is an amazingly supportive addition to a team - she has a great eye for design, is enthusiastic about accessibility and knows a lot about testing code. She has a great calming presence in a team and always keeps her cool. She’s comfortable talking with everyone involved in a project at all levels of seniority and tech-capabilities and presents her ideas thoughtfully and respectfully. On top of this she is also very (maybe too) modest about her coding abilities and has no problem asking someone to explain their thought process, or problem through more steps, in order for her to learn better. |

How I get my best work done:
The role I usually take in a team:
I prefer it when everyone shares the same amount of responsibility in a project. Feel comfortable in any role as long as the team works together.
My communication style:
It takes time until I feel comfortable in a new group and during this period I can struggle to be proactive. I tend to contribute more after given some time to consider, rather than at the early stages/heat of a discussion. I keep an open mind and like to explore the same issue from different perspectives.
What I value:
Honesty and collaboration.
My Myers-Briggs type is INFJ:
What people misunderstand about me:
How I like to get my feedback:
Be considerate and kind - it should be fine
Technical strengths & weaknesses:
👍 Layout, CSS, testing
Interests (programming or otherwise!):
UX, films, series, feminism...
