Absolute paths and node modules

I have activated absolute paths by specifying "baseUrl": "src" in tsconfig.json.
Now I can write paths like this:
import { importantEventsThunks } from "store/pageAreas";
But if I install an external dependency and try to import it like:
import { DragDropContext} from "react-beautiful-dnd";
I will get an error when compiling:
Module not found: Can't resolve 'react-beautiful-dnd' in 'E:\repos\diaryApp\diary-app-frontend\src\components\Calendar'.
Interestingly, the dependencies that have been installed for a long time are found without problems.

What I'm doing wrong? Help me please.

Most times such issues are solved by a simple IDE restart. Did this issue start after using baseUrl in tsconfig? If so paste your tsconfig file below.

Restart doesn't help. I even tried to install packages globally but it's not working also.

I used the same tsconfig as above and installed react-beautiful-dnd on a react sandbox and it worked. You can also try using paths in compilerOptions. At this point you should just post a link to your repository.

Maybe something is wrong in my local settings... You can find the repo at https://github.com/thallkeer/diary-app.
About paths. I tried using them, but as far as I understand, the react-create-app disallow them. When I try to compile the project I get the following message:
The following changes are being made to your tsconfig.json file: compilerOptions.paths must not be set (aliased imports are not supported)
and then paths are just removing from tsconfig.

I just check your repository (package.json) and couldn't find react-beautiful-dnd in dependencies. You have only installed it's type definitions. I also installed it myself and it is working on my machine.
