react-scripts build just hangs when encountering "Module not found" error

When running react-scripts build (via npm run build), I notice that it just hangs and did not exit when a "Module not found" error occurred. This is problematic for us since we are using a CI and this makes the pipeline waits until it times out. I did not notice this problem happening for other kinds of error.

I am not sure if this is by design or there's some bug. Hope I can get some help, thank you.
