I created a new notebook, clicked in the only cell, then hit backspace by accident. I was left with a blank notebook with no UI element I could see to create a new cell. Also the shortcut I usually use to create a new cell (ctrl+enter) did not work. So I was left with a seemingly useless notebook. I was able to click the pluto symbol and make a new notebook to proceed. I think it would be better if getting to the useless notebook state was impossible. Either don't allow deletion of the only cell, or when there are 0 cells add a ui element to create a cell where the cells would be.
How do you delete the cell? Click in it, hit backspace.
Do you see any error messages in the terminal where you launched Pluto? No.
Do you see any error messages in the browser dev console? No.
Another observation: When I first delete the cell, then leave the tab and come back, then there is a cell.
