Interested in Contributing to CoastlineExtraction

Hi @fwitmer and mentors 👋
I’m interested in contributing to Automated Coastline Extraction (NDWI & cliff segmentation) for GSoC 2026.
I’m currently going through the repo and workflow (NDWI masking + pipeline). My next step is to set up the project locally and reproduce the coastline extraction on the sample data.
Could you please suggest one good first contribution that would be most useful for the team right now?
Examples I can work on:
improving documentation/setup steps
writing tests for pipeline components
fixing small issues / refactoring
helping with dataset expansion workflow
