Codex Credit Usage

Currently the pricing for Codex appears to be based on their API usage pricing but I noticed a significant discrepancy between my price in codeburn versus the actual price. The difference is that I use credits, and I think those credits have a different value. Credits have their own pricing model.

It would be extremely beneficial to have visibility into credit usage rather than just API billing. If the credit usage is already a factor and is getting converted to currency, I'd love an option to see credits as a currency. In this case, #408 is already requesting this so feel free to mark as a duplicate.

Fixed. CodeBurn was pricing Codex at OpenAI API token rates, which is why the figure didn't match credit consumption. Codex credits are a separate unit billed per token at per-model rates (GPT-5.5 125/12.5/750, GPT-5.4 62.5/6.25/375, GPT-5.4 mini 18.75/1.875/113 credits per 1M input/cached/output), so the two genuinely differ.

Merged in #510:

• A credit engine using the official Codex credit rates.
• Per-model credit usage in codeburn models --format json (a credits field; null for non-Codex / unknown models).
• An opt-in menubar metric: Settings -> Display -> Metric -> "Credits (Codex)" shows credits for the selected period.

Defaults are unchanged: cost ($) is still the default in both the CLI and the menubar. Credits only show when you ask for them (the JSON field, or the menubar metric). This ships in the next release.
