Adjust emote size

The emotes appear a bit smaller than the text and are a bit hard to read. Is there any way with custom CSS to adjust the size of those?

I was able to do this by adding this code:

#chat_container .emote {
border-radius: 10%;
max-width: 600px;
height: 72px;
max-height: 72px;
vertical-align: bottom;
margin-bottom: -2px;
margin-top: 2px;
}

if anyone has a better understanding and can correct this or offer better insight please do, I copied this from a friend.
