We created the form so that the user can link a printer item in the call, as shown in the print:

However, nothing is displayed to the user in the common profile:

We checked the profile configuration, but we didn't find anything that could be preventing this selection:

I also have this issue, Users are not able to see their objects in forms when using Objects in forms

The issue is in the simplified interface that restricts users from any access to assets, even from forms. I cloned the self-service profile, then changed it to the standard interface - the issue disappeared from that.

I believe the best user interface is a simplified one.

It's a good suggestion, but I think it's interesting that they work to fix the issue, since the simplified profile has release options.

Are you trying to let the user see all available printers or just the one that he is assigned to?

It might be a bit dangerous to enable self service users to access all available assets, maybe we need to add a right for that? ping @cedric-anne

If you use Item> User Devices it works in the form, But this does not allow me to limit to specific item types, If I have a form for a printer issue I want them to only see printers to select not all item types. It also appears the only items that appear for the users under User Devices are computers, and software not printers or other objects.

Item, GLPI Objects > Printers shows nothing as there are no permissions similar to user devices applied here? This menu does work for users just not assets.

I think additional filter under user devices might solve the same issues in a better way, but the option to allow some users to see all item of a specific type may be useful in some cases as well like non self-service profiles.

My 3 cents here — I want to add GLPI Objects > Consumables to the Form, so any user can select them to create a ticket. IMHO Forms should be exempt from asset restrictions, like it worked in the Forms plugin.

Well, the permission already exists within profile management; you just need to apply it to forms.

If the permissions section says I can associate certain types of devices, it should appear to the user.

The fact is, this mechanism was being used to automatically link the item to the ticket and then be able to check the history.

As it stands, it doesn't work.

The permissions only indicate association with tickets. I understand that this poses no risk, unless you add some sensitive information to the device name.
