Is there a way to run a task on schedule/cron (until canceled)?

It would be great it would be possible. This pattern synergises well with docker-compose workflows and maybe other systems.
I knwo it's possible to do this by the terminal/bash/systemd etc but it's OS specific. Through task would be os-agnostic
