Data Correction: Friulian (ISO_639-3 fur) #32

Description

Dear Google Research,

Could you please rectify the number of speakers of Friulian, an official minority language in Italy? A survey conducted in 2024 by the Regional Authority of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, which includes the territory where Friulian is spoken, determined the correct number to be 440k, as opposed to the 37k+ you quoted.

This figure does not include speakers of Friulian living outside Friuli, nor does it include the historic Friulian-speaking diaspora, for which recent data is unavailable.

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards,

Stefania Garlatti-Costa
Councillor (Friulian-language policies and Plurilingualism)
