The 'shift+enter' keys combination is broken in lots of terminals so that it is indistinguishable from a simple 'enter' (here is a good read on the topic).
If one can not somehow fix it for a given terminal, tau doesn't offer any alternative nor rebinding since this is unfortunately hard-coded at the moment.
