Unable to add valid email address

Description

It is stated in the error message that 1. The local-part should only contain alphanumeric characters and these special characters, excluding the parentheses, (+_.-). The local-part may not start or end with any special characters.

I have entered a valid email address that abides by the error message as shown in the screenshot, but I am unable to add his/her email address.

Hi,

The special characters +, _, - and . can indeed be part of a valid email address, but they cannot be placed consecutively. Here is a reference.

This is a standard email address restriction according to the RFC 5322 standard, and our User Guide states that any input to the email field must be a valid email.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the characters when separated are in fact accepted:
