Are there any docs that would help one build and deploy this module?

Pull and standard mvn install works here.

Ian opened the wiki up for me ..
I'm supposed to get to get together some form of a wiki page.. for running stand alone .. :(

Currently scrubbing something together as we speak :)
I'll try to get something up here today referencing a bare bones config.

You can dig on the shib-dev list for the bit where Brent got the mdq-server running as well ..
