I would like the repos under Xe and TecharoHQ to not be accessible through your service. Please immediately process my opt-out request.

Thanks and be well,

Hey, we've updated our README to clarify our opt-out policy. In short, we chose the industry standard of honoring robots.txt in our code, as this is the current opt-out mechanism standard for a free, public, open-source repo.

How do I opt-out though? I want clear instructions on what actions I need to take to protect my repositories.

Like similar tools, GitMCP does not access anything forbidden by the robots.txt. If you'd like to prevent access to a site in your control you would need to configure it on your website (learn more here).

Could you please clarify your concerns? This tool is no different from a user manually accessing the public GitHub repository to read the docs or using any other tool that does. GitMCP doesn't periodically scrape, learn, retain, or otherwise take any propietary information from repositories. Any access is carried out as a result of a specific user query on a specific repository and is explicitly attributed to it. This includes everything from tool definitions and descriptions to the responses which are exact reflections of the public documentation.
