[Feature] Ability to quickly and temporarily swap to different grid layouts

I have searched the existing feature requests to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

The feature

At the moment you've to manually go all the way into the settings page, and switch it, and likewise to switch it back, it'd be very useful to have a button either in the top navbar or similar, that would open a menu to change the grid layout, but having it only apply until the app is restarted.

Currently only needed for mobile until #7618 is added.
