I have searched the existing feature requests to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

The feature

A URL path on an immich instance that simply has a link to the GitHub release version matching the installed server version. The link could be to the GitHub release version itself or to the GitHub release APK or maybe have links for both.

The primary use case for this is using Obtainium for automatic Android app updates but keeping the app at the server version.

The biggest thing about this would be the ability to stay on a server version for a while and have the app be on the same version even though it's old, and then you could update the server whenever you want and your app would automatically update.

  • One way is just query the server and have it as a variable in the link similar to the version-announcement-box
• Minor version updates
  • APKs are release even when there is no updates to mobile, good because there won't be a case of no APK, but bad because it's wasteful to download and install an APK just for the version number increment.
  • Minor mobile updates with bug fixes but no server update should show up
