Device
X3
Affected Version
4.5.3
Build Variant
tiny
EPUB Optimization
No / Not Applicable
Cache State
No / Not Applicable
Describe the Bug
On my X3 none of the wifi features work. X3 wont reliably let you add a new network. When in hotspot mode, attempting to load the webserver causes the device to keep restarting the hotspot for as long as the connected device tries to access the webserver. Hotspot mode doesnt always issue an IP to connected devices either. These issues do not occur when I roll back to crosspoint and crossink current firmware.
Steps to Reproduce
-
Navigate to the 'Wifi Networks' menu in settings
-
Select desired network from the list of nearby networks
-
Enter the password and click 'ok'
-
Get error
-
Open 'file transfer' menu
-
'join a network'
-
If device does connect to the network (it wont reliably) other devices on the same network can't reach it from their browsers
-
Open 'file transfer'
-
'create hotspot'
-
From another device connect to 'crosspoint-reader' wifi
4a. If the device connecting to the X3 gets an IP issued: Attempt to navigate to the webserver and watch the screen on the X3 constantly restart the hotspot
4b. If the device connecting to the X3 doesn't get an IP issued: Connecting device will stop trying to connect to the X3 hotspot source
Expected Behavior
Expect to connect to any wifi source without issue. Expect crosspoint.local and the device's ip address to be reachable by devices on the same network as it when in file transfer mode. Expect crosspoint.local and 192.168.4.1 to be reachable when the device is in hotspot mode. Expect hotspot mode not to constantly reboot when trying to reach the web server.
