To restrict is to socially exclude an action or activity in a specific context.
Restriction can be described as a relationship between a specific resource-- potentially including planned activities-- and an agent who intentionally governs the use of that resource within a specific context.
Restriction may prevent all agents from accessing a resource without special permission. They may also restrict specific agents or identified types of agent.
Restrictions are often coercive protective plans to prevent actions or activities which an agent either (1) directly prohibits or (2) has not directly authorized.
The concept of restriction is often (but not always) related to ownership.
