This is a great improvement, I really love the widget on the mouse cursor and so on, sure it would be nice to resize and move the key display and I'm sure you're working on all sorts of things so thank you.
My issue is, as it was with the previous incarnation, the amount of CPU cycles this thing takes up, even when just moving the cursor in the 3D view it's taking up 96% of one core consistently as far as I can tell for me.. how this will play with my screen recording software I dont know but I will be testing it out!
Not sure if anything can be done about it but thought I would mention. Thanks again.

Thanks for your report @OlsonB! Sadly, I don't think there's much I can do right now to improve performance, given that I already implemented a caching mechanism on the codepath that I think is the most computationally expensive (rasterizing a widget defined by a bezier curve into a set of triangles to draw on-screen, mainly via a powerful function provided in the Blender API).
Let me know if you do your test with screen recording software and how it came along. In case you are interested, I've found Simple Screen Recorder (Linux) to be very useful and reliable (though not including the bells and whistles found on commercial software).
