I have been using the service for a long time. I am very grateful to the developers for the functionality. As for the design... Innovations are good, but only when they are not to the detriment of the main functionality. Let's go through the points: This may seem like a small thing, but it's not. ripped rounded edge.... it looks bad. There's less space in my workspace now. So I will have to do more clicking, scrolling and other time-consuming activities. And time can't be bought or created. Alas. You've reduced the contrast of the main theme... By making the baemen quite high contrast, for people with problematic eyesight. But I, as a person with normal eyesight, would like the working field to have more contrast from other areas. There are some good moments. The header has gotten smaller in height (but it's not clear now where I can change the theme), but I think if you made the giant “share” button smaller... There are other nice little things (the contrast of the top menu is better) and the right work area is more compact. But now I hope you will keep the current design for those who like it better than the new one. |

Thanks for the update and the effort! 🙏 I am always the Minimal theme. Besides those small cosmetics, nothing else is dramatically changed (which is a positive thing, ofc), as far as I can see. |

Am I the only one who think that new UI is lagger than before? |

Nice effort to keep the layout the same. Thank you! In any case, though, i like the contrasted colors better. Please leave it as an option. |

Latest version is looking good! I do agree with the other comments preferring some sort of contrast between side panels and background. |

Older version looked more professional. The new one looks like a phone app which makes it inferior. Also some things i noticed

A new look is definitely better. Hope it'll appear in the main application soon |

The proportions of the icon in the upper left corner aren’t quite right. The official one should be a square, right? |

Over the last two months, the team at draw.io has been working hard to bring you a refreshed and modernized user interface that aligns with the new Google Drive UI. We know that users don't like it when things are moved around, so we've taken great care to modernize the interface without changing the overall layout or removing any essential elements. Our goal was to give draw.io a cleaner, more modern appearance while preserving the intuitive workflow that our users have come to rely on.
👉 Try it here: https://6e0d896d.drawio-dev.pages.dev/
🚀 What’s New?
Comparing the two images, you can see how we've updated the interface:
✅ A more modern, streamlined design that reflects current UI standards
✅ Cleaned up stylesheets for a more consistent look and feel
✅ Codebase improvements for better performance and future updates
🔍 Key Differences
Color and Styling:
The new UI (first image) features softer colors and more uniform styling, making it visually consistent with modern web apps.
Buttons and Controls:
While the layout remains unchanged, the buttons and icons have been updated to be sharper and more responsive.
Panel Design:
The "Diagram" and "Style" panels on the right side now have a more polished look, but their functionality and position remain intact.
Scratchpad and Shape Panel:
The left-side panel remains familiar but benefits from subtle improvements in spacing and alignment for better usability.
🏡 Keeping It Familiar
We understand that muscle memory matters when working with complex tools. That’s why all core elements, including the toolbar, shape panel, and diagram options, are still exactly where you expect them to be. The goal was to make the transition to the new UI seamless — so you’ll feel right at home from the start.
This update isn’t just about looks — we’ve also cleaned up the codebase, making future updates and improvements smoother and more efficient. The new UI marks an exciting step forward for draw.io, and we’re confident you’ll enjoy the refreshed experience.
👉 Thank you for your continued support — happy diagramming!
