Creating events api with cron syntax instead of cronicle event timing object?

We would like to define jobs with a yaml config that gets parsed by a script and makes the required api calls, it would be easier for us if we could send events to the create api configured with cron syntax instead of using the cronicle event time object.

Alternatively if there is an api to return the conversion that would work for us too.
