[Feature Request] Ability to filter completed jobs by completion result and date range #55
Comments
Okay, I'll add this to the TODO list, but this bit caught my eye:
It does??? You must be on an old version of Cronicle. What version are you using, may I ask? Several versions back I completely overhauled the Activity Log to only contain relevant items, which mainly consists of failed jobs, and other major administrative errors like servers crashing. If you upgrade to the latest version, try checking the Activity Log again. It should be very easy to find failed jobs there. |
Thanks Activity Log is much cleaner now. Any chance we could get the filtering implemented sooner? There are some noisy events that fail once in a while and then fix themselves. These pollute the completed job list. It would be great if I could look at just the events:
Another approach would be to allow these filters to be "global filters" i.e., they not only apply to completed page but across all the Cronicle pages for a particular user. |
Just saw that filters already exist on "Schedule" tab. Something similar for "Completed" tab or globally would work great. |
Okay, I'll re-open this. I don't have a timeline tho. I just work on Cronicle as a hobby, in my spare time, so I can't give you an estimate on when features will be added. I'll get to this as soon as I can tho. |
Thanks, appreciate all you're doing. We love Cronicle and using it in quite a few places now. |
Glad to hear it! |
It would be great to have this feature - as currently we are trying to cross Cronicle with running elastalert checks - and envision lots of scheduled tasks with different success rates. Filter by time would definitely help in investigations |
Summary
I often need to monitor if any jobs have been failing. We have so many jobs scheduled that it gets tedious looking one job at a time. "Activity Log" has too many events too. It'll be great if we could filter complete jobs by:
