Feature: Export Scan History as CSV

Description

Problem Statement

FreshScan AI currently allows users to view historical scan records, but there is no mechanism to export this data for offline analysis, reporting, or record keeping.

For vendors, researchers, and quality inspectors, downloadable scan history could improve traceability and decision making.

Proposed Solution

Introduce a CSV export feature for scan history.

The exported file may include:

• Scan date and time
• Freshness score
• Vendor information
• Scan result category
• Confidence score (if available)

Benefits

• Better record keeping
• Easier external analysis
• Improved user experience
• Supports business reporting workflows

Expected Outcome

Users can download their scan history as a CSV file directly from the dashboard or history page.

While reviewing the project structure and existing scan history functionality, I noticed an opportunity to improve data accessibility and reporting capabilities.

I believe a CSV export feature would provide practical value for vendors, inspectors, and users who wish to analyze scan records outside the platform.

If this enhancement aligns with the project roadmap, I would be happy to work on the implementation and documentation under SSoC 2026.

Hi @jpdevhub! I'd love to work on this as part of SSoC '26.

My Approach:

• Add an "Export CSV" button on the scan history page that triggers a client-side CSV generation using the already-fetched scan data
• Include relevant fields in the CSV: Scan ID, Date/Time, Freshness Score, Gill Score, Eye Score, Body Score, and AI Recommendation
• For large histories, generate the CSV on the backend as a streamed file download to avoid memory issues in the browser
• Sanitize all values before CSV export to prevent CSV injection attacks (e.g., escaping values that start with =, +, -, @)
