Wikipedia: Space saving option for local-only zim files

I was wondering if removing the footer in wikipedia articles, which contains links to external sites, would free up a considerable amount of space, for a device that doesn't access to internet.

It would save space, but not a lot because:

• Text is already compressed
• Most of the filesize is not text anyway
• We would have to save the data of the footer anyway somehow
