I am not 100% sure if this discussion is appropriate or not; if it is actually a bug report that I'm masquerading as a question! But I'm curious about other's attempts to use the PubPub "Connections" feature to see if I'm doing something incorrect.
I then updated the PubPub Crossref DOI deposit, and a relation was added, as expected. But it's not the relation I would have thought. The relation points back to the PubPub DOI rather than to the arXiv DOI:
Is this some weird feature of Crossref/DataCite/arXiv causing the relation to loop back? (If you are familiar with arXiv DOIs then you'll notice something odd on the arXiv landing page)
Or is it a PubPub bug?
Do others have examples of Connections for their articles that I can look at -- both the expression on PubPub and in the Crossref metadata? I'd be up for a discussion on this even if my specific issue were a bug.
Thanks!

Consider our article: https://baas.aas.org/pub/2024i004/release/1
If you go to the connections feature at the bottom, I've linked the article to its arXiv preprint:
https://arxiv.org/abs/2401.13723
I then updated the PubPub Crossref DOI deposit, and a relation was added, as expected. But it's not the relation I would have thought. The relation points back to the PubPub DOI rather than to the arXiv DOI:
