OpenSource als Ehrenamt

Pardon my German post next, but this is mainly relevant for persons in Germany. Nevertheless I would be happy if this initiative could be also shared across other countries. That’s why I post here in English and German in a single post.

#OpenSource ist ein Pfeiler moderner Gesellschaften – ebenso wichtig wie Sport, Kultur, Jugend- und Rettungsdienste. Die Menschen, die diese Infrastruktur in ihrer Freizeit pflegen, sichern die #digitale #Zukunft #Deutschlands und ihre #Digitale #Souveränität.
Dieses Engagement ist #Ehrenamt im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes und sollte endlich auch rechtlich so behandelt werden.
Daher habe ich eine #Petition zur #Anerkennung von #opensource als #Ehrenamt gestartet:

#OpenSource is a pillar of modern societies – just as important as sport, culture, youth services and emergency services. The people who maintain this infrastructure in their spare time are securing #Germany’s #digital #future and its #digital #sovereignty.
This commitment is #volunteer work in the truest sense of the word and should finally be treated as such in legal terms.
That is why I have started a #petition for the #recognition of #opensource as #volunteer work:
