There are several probots that may be useful for us. I have a few set up with https://github.com/biotaphy/BiotaPhyPy that have been very useful for drafting release notes and attributing authors. Some others that I think could be helpful...

Pull - Keep forks up to date, potentially very useful if we develop in local repositories
Release Drafter - Drafts release notes from closed issues
Todo Bot - Creates issues from "todo" lines in the code
All Contributors - Automatically adds attribution for contributors to a project, code and otherwise

Does that TODO Bot automatically closes opened issues when that TODO: line was later removed?

I'm not sure. I know that is an issue they wanted to implement Todo Bot #184 but I don't know if it was ever merged in. I think you could add some keywords to the commit message to do it if not.
