This one looks legitimate — active open-source project (AGPL, 14k+ stars, Svelte/TypeScript, WebAssembly-based local conversion).

One question: the submission checks "Yes, it's been security audited" — is there a published audit report? Couldn't find one in the repo or on the site.

I've got a PR ready in #430, but I might first see if I can submit a PR to them, on that issue @ltguillaume mentioned, as well as the really weird use of latency checking they're doing.

The video conversion is the only one that happens server-side (if you're using their public instance), they have 2 public servers: eu.vertd.vert.sh and usa.vertd.vert.sh - makes sense. But, the way they decide which one to use, is by making a call to ipinfo.co and getting your aprox location from that, which (unless I am missing something) doesn't make much sense, as there's much easier ways of doing this, and it's a big data leak.
