What is happening?
In line with our product support lifecycle versions 1.1 and 2.0 of Access Manager will reach end of life on November 12, 2024.
If you are running either of these versions, you need to update your installation to stay supported.
Why does this matter?
Access Manager versions v1.1 and v2.0 are built on Microsoft .NET 6, which will reach its end of life on November 12, 2024. After that date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates for .NET 6.
While your Access Manager will still work, it could be exposed to security vulnerabilities as any future issues in the .NET platform won't be patched.
Already using v3.0?
Great! You’re all set! As per our support lifecycle, v3.0 is supported until November 2026.
Why upgrade to v3.0?
If you haven't upgraded yet, now is a great opportunity to upgrade to Access Manager v3.0. This version offers enhanced features, which you can explore further here: https://docs.lithnet.io/ams/whats-new. By upgrading to v3.0, you'll benefit from the latest updates, improved functionality, and full support for Microsoft .NET 8 until 10 November 2026.
We've prepared a list of what you need to know before migrating to v3, as well as a detailed guide to help you migrate seamlessly from v2 to v3
Not ready to upgrade to v3.0? What do you need to do?
No problem! We’ve released Access Manager v2.1, now built on Microsoft .NET Core 8. This version is fully supported until November 10, 2026. To stay secure, simply update to v2.1. You can download the update from our website.
What’s new in v2.1?
There are no changes to features or capabilities between v2.0 and v2.1. However, some older versions of Linux (such as RHEL 7) are no longer supported as per the Microsoft .NET 8 supported OS list.
