Our apologies for the radio silence here. This repo is deprecated, and should not be used for production workloads. Mesosphere has built a new, experimental HDFS framework for DC/OS internally. It is currently published to the DC/OS Universe, and we’d love for you to try it out and provide feedback in the DC/OS JIRA instance (dcosjira.atlassian.net). We will open source this new framework later this year, replacing this one, to grow a community of users and contributors. Stay tuned for an announcement on [email protected] before the end of the year. |
Any update on this? When will the new repository be available? Are there any plans to move on with the HDFS version? (last release on this repo uses hadoop 2.5.0 and there are many new versions since). |
We're actively working on this and hope to share before the end of the year. We'll update this issue with links as soon as we do. |

This repo is deprecated. It will be archived on December 1, 2017. |
The package installer mentions the HDFS service is still in alpha, but there doesn't seem to be anything mentioned in this repository, nor are there any planned milestones or release dates for beta/stable versions. It seems like a lot of people are itching to use this in production, but there hasn't been a release in almost a year, with very few commits since then. Issues are slowly being resolved, but there are still quite a few open that don't have many good answers.
I understand the contributors might be busy with other priorities, and some of the comments on the issues are mentioning a new rewrite soon, but can there be some sort of status update/changelog/milestones added to the README?
