Unable to resolve dependency 'Microsoft.Developer.IdentityService.Client'

The latest version of this package (15.8.525) cannot be installed currently because the Microsoft.Developer.IdentityService.Client does not seem to exist.

I realised that the 15.X versions don't match the 2.0.0 package at all and all the documentation is for 2.0.0 version so I've just changed to using that. This (as with all Visual Studio extensibility options) is super confusing.

I am a developer of VS extension "OpenAPI (Swagger) Connected Service"

I am using a NuGet package Microsoft.VisualStudio.ConnectedServices 2.0.0 as described here. I see there is a newer version of it - Microsoft.VisualStudio.ConnectedServices 16.0.428

But when I am trying to update it to newer version I am getting error because one of dependencies - Microsoft.Developer.IdentityService.Client (>= 1.2.25-alpha) - is not found on NuGet.

Are there any other sources instead of NuGet.org I can use to install Microsoft.VisualStudio.ConnectedServices 16.0.428 package?

P.S. This issue related to attempt to update extension to VS2019 as well - @madskristensen I have updated my extension as described in your post (by the way thanks Mads for this clear process description). But when I am trying to install it from VS2019 Preview I am getting a "Dependency Alert":
"The following referencies must be present before installation can Continue":

• Microsoft Connected Services
  The error dialog recommends to find this on VS marketplace, but it doesn't exist there (and I guess, it shouldn't).

Unfortunately the package is deprecated for VS 2019.
