How do I view the printf output and get input values from scanf when debug?

Hi I found this issue #250 was closed backed in 2017 but no matter whether I use "externalConsole": true or "externalConsole": false I just can't get the printf output or scanf input from externalConsole.

What did I do wrong ? Besides, I actually prefer to get input/output from integratedConsole, can I do that ?
