Please confirm these before moving forward

  • I have searched for my issue and not found a work-in-progress/duplicate/resolved issue.
  • I have not been informed if the issue is resolved in a preview version of the winget client.

Installation issue.

Brief description of your issue

I am not able to download and install the google chrome via winget.
Not able to download and install Google Chrome

Command:
winget install --id Google.Chrome

Error:
An unexpected error occurred while executing the command:
InternetOpenUrl() failed.
0x80072f0d : unknown error

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open CMD as admin:
  2. Run: winget install --id Google.Chrome
  3. The error will present itself

Actual behavior

Error:
Downloading https://dl.google.com/dl/chrome/install/googlechromestandaloneenterprise64.msi
An unexpected error occurred while executing the command:
InternetOpenUrl() failed.
0x80072f0d : unknown error

Expected behavior

Expected behavior is to download and install Google Chrome without any issue.

Environment

Windows: Windows.Desktop v10.0.22631.4751
System Architecture: X64
Package: Microsoft.DesktopAppInstaller v1.24.25200.0

✅ Manually verified without errors. Behind a proxy in Hong Kong SAR., China.
