Integration with pusher.com?

I'm coming in from HN (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15590934) and this is very cool for me. We were actually looking for intercom.io with a BYO-API (bring your own API). A lot of people are like us who have an existing infrastructure built on top of Pusher or Firebase and we want to pay for a Intercom that will integrate with it (rather than having to replace the websocket layer).
This is kind of like Gitlab-for-Intercom for me.

I see you are building operator integrations with IRC , slack , etc. I would urge you to consider one of the commercial services (like Pusher, Pubnub, Firebase, Layer, etc). You would be surprised at how many people need this.

Are you planning to do this commercially ? because we are happy paying for a subscription ?

Hey @sandys thanks for creating an issue!

Since the Show HN post has gotten so much attention (way more than expected, thank you HN!!) we kept getting some recurring feedback, and integration with Pusher/alike was something we kept hearing over and over again. I think it would be silly of us to overlook that, but we're still coming down from our HN high. We want to make features with the most impact. So we're going to review what that looks like and it very well be Pusher/etc is the direction we take. I'll update the issue here once we know definitively, but keep your eyes peeled at our repositories as I'm sure you will see something pop up of interest ;)

Hi, Thanks for replying. I get the fact that the transport is the cool thing to do with for goroutines and performance and all. But remember that Pusher, Firebase, etc have free tiers. Most people building small projects are also using these layers. Then you will go into building android/ios SDK. which is a huge challenge in itself. But there is massive demand for an opensource (but paid, like Gitlab) Intercom with all the sophisticated features there. It's my $0.02 that you use something with all these kinds of problems already solved and build a killer Intercom. P. S. You should apply to YC with this in the next batch.
