Notepad++ startup slowdown linked to JsonTools plugin

I've noticed that enabling the JsonTools plugin causes Notepad++ to start up slower. I have around 14 plugins installed, and startup is fast unless JsonTools is enabled. Even if I disable all other plugins and leave only JsonTools active, the slowdown still happens. This isn’t a huge problem and many users might not notice it, but I've tested this on multiple OSes and different PCs, and the result is consistent. It would be great if the plugin could be optimized so it doesn't impact Notepad++ startup time compared to other plugins.

What version of JsonTools are you using? And how much slower are we talking? I'm not going to lose sleep worrying about JsonTools delaying Notepad++ startup by less than a second, not least because profiling startup performance would be too annoying and sensitive to random noise.
In general I have tried to optimize startup time performance, but there's only so much I can do given that config files must be read.
If you have experience writing highly performant C# code, I would welcome assistance. I am not a professional developer, and this is just a hobby project for me.
