very cool project! wanted to mention that the typejs site does a flash of unstyled text upon load.

Thanks. Yeah, since the site’s index.html and the demo are the same file, I linked the fonts from my personal site, causing the delay. I didn’t want to include the font files in the repo. I’ll look at separating the site and repo code to improve the performance.

Seems the fonts are hosted at fonts.googleapis.com. Can't get much faster than that IMHO, since I'm sure they use a CDN. Also, they'll automatically deliver the briefest CSS file to load the smallest font version per browser (look at the CSS inside Chrome vs in Fx vs IE vs Safari).

They are also likely cached already for popular fonts
