How would you model a rack mount tray with devices in netbox? #2798

Hello, a few of our rack cabinets have rack mounted trays with devices on them. I was wondering if you guys knew a standard way to model this in netbox. A network technician and I were discussing just making a device template than adding some type of module type to hold those devices? We've been messing around with netbox community in a vm and have been slowly figuring this out, I also think if there is demand for this besides me we should add some rack mount tray device types into the repo. Thanks guys. |

Generally in the past these are modelled as individual devices (the tray itself), which then has either module or device bays. Then you would add the device in one of those bays. This is probably the best way to model putting devices on a shelf. |
